Times Daily

Well my hometown team is loading up to win a national championship THIS year... Terry Bowden is loading up on a TON of FBS talent.  Terry, I am afraid is just auditioning for a FBS job...

UNA was absolutely dominant when I was in middle school... They won 3 NC's in a row... Coach Wallace left for a disaster at Temple and UNA struggled for a few years... Coach Hud. had them in contention every year, making the Div. II semi's twice...  But Coach Hud. joined Mullen's staff at MSU... Everyone is excited about Bowden at UNA... I am afraid that we are being set up for heartbreak when he leaves...

I remember those good old days.  I also remember going to Highland Park Elementary in Muscle Shoals...and for some reason they brought in some Pitt State players in to talk to all us kids.  They started trying to get us to chant "Go Pitt State" ...suddenly the room erupted with kids screaming the chant "U-N-A!!!"  Ahh, good time to grow up in the Shoals.

I didn't realize Terry Bowden was at UNA. 'Course, we don't get much UNA news in LA. I went to Jacksonville State and remember when UNA was Florence State and we were both in the old Alabama Athletic Conference (Jax State, Florence State, Troy State, and Livingston State).

And, Core...JSU beat Pitt State for the NC in 1992. I believe that was JSU's only national football championship. UNA has won several.

He ended up with about 35 Tackles, about 10 TFL, a couple of sacks, and an INT... I was in Florence a couple of weeks ago and I had asked about him... I am pretty sure he started every game... But wasn't dominant by any means...  I doubt that he will be drafted... Likely fell of a lot of radar screens after he transferred...

I guess he's wishing he would have stuck around now.
